Child On Scooter Injured In Mattapan Crash

The scooter collided with a car in Mattapan, according to police.

BOSTON, MA — A child riding a scooter was injured in a crash involving a motor vehicle in Mattapan early Thursday morning, according to the Boston Police Department.

Boston Police officers responded at approximately 5:45 a.m. on Thursday morning to the area of Talbot Avenue and Norwell Street for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a scooter, Boston Police told Patch.

The scooter rider suffered injuries in the crash, though the extent of those injuries was not immediately known, police told Patch. A vehicle reportedly struck the child at the intersection before he hit a parked car. The driver of the car involved remained on scene.

The child was transported to a local hospital following the crash. His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
