Town commits $4 million to help keep a Brookline Village apartment building affordable (brookline.news) — Brookline officials have unanimously committed $4 million from the town's Affordable Housing Trust to preserve 115 income-restricted senior apartments at 99 Kent Street near Brookline Village and renovate additional units at Village at Brookline. The funding will help secure new state and federal tax credits before existing affordability protections expire in 2027, aiming to keep vulnerable older residents housed while upgrading the aging complex.

A Brookline midwife offers an alternative for mothers who don't trust hospitals (brookline.news) — A Brookline Village midwife is offering local families a home-birth option from her office on Harvard Street, emphasizing personalized prenatal care and strong postpartum support. She describes why many of her largely Black clientele choose to avoid hospitals, how she coordinates with Boston medical providers for emergencies, and her plans to restart in-person postpartum support groups to build community among new mothers.
   

3. AHEPA spearheads $250,000 in scholarships for Hellenic Holy Cross (orthodoxtimes.com) — Seminarians studying at Hellenic College and Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in Brookline are set to benefit from $250,000 in new scholarships organized by the Order of AHEPA. Funded through AHEPA's Educational Foundation and the John George Tsitsos Scholarship Fund, the awards aim to ease tuition burdens while strengthening ties between the organization and future clergy.
   

4. Alleged Coolidge Corner pro-Palestine sticker lady has felony charge dismissed (universalhub.com) — An 80-year-old Brookline woman has had a felony vandalism charge dropped in Brookline District Court after placing a pro-Palestine sticker on Michael's Deli in Coolidge Corner, though she must still pay court costs. Prosecutors moved to dismiss after her lawyer argued the removable sticker caused no permanent damage or hateful harm, and reports noted no evidence of antisemitic intent in prior local incidents.
