• Veteran Brookline Police Officer Retires After 30-Year Career (patch.com) — Brookline residents are saying goodbye to Officer Steve Weinstein, who is retiring after more than 30 years with the town's police department, much of it on patrol and at the front desk. Known for his positive attitude and deep knowledge of the community, he once helped identify a driver wanted on serious felony warrants, and also served as treasurer of the Brookline Police Union.
   

• BCF Community Grant Program 2026 (Massachusetts) (fundsforngos.org) — The Brookline Community Foundation is accepting applications for its 2026 Community Grant Program, offering a share of $95,000 for projects that benefit people who live, work, learn, or play in Brookline. Local nonprofits, town departments, and community groups can seek $10,000–$100,000 for efforts like housing, health, climate, arts, and economic mobility, with priority for organizations serving vulnerable residents.
   

• Kodak plays major role in new Tom Cruise movie 'Digger' (13wham.com) — Brookline's Coolidge Corner Theatre will host special VistaVision screenings of Tom Cruise's new film "Digger," using rare dual projectors that showcase the large-format Kodak film as originally intended. The cinema is one of only four worldwide able to present VistaVision this way, giving local moviegoers a uniquely high-quality big-screen experience starting with the film's October release.
