1 Person Injured In Shooting Near Cambridge Park
A suspect remains at large, however, police say there is no ongoing threat to the public.
CAMBRIDGE, MA — One person was injured in a shooting near a Cambridge park Tuesday afternoon, according to police.
Cambridge Emergency Communications received multiple 911 calls reporting gunshots in the vicinity of Russell Field in North Cambridge at approximately 3:20 p.m. Responding officers located one person suffering from injuries related to the incident.
The victim was transported by EMS to a local hospital. Their condition and other personal details have not yet been revealed.

Cambridge police responded to the scene and are investigating. No arrests have been announced, and police have yet to release any information about a possible suspect or what led up to the incident.
Russell Field is located off Rindge Avenue adjacent to the Alewife MBTA Station. The recreational complex includes football, soccer, and baseball fields.

Police initially maintained a heightened presence in the area while investigators processed the crime scene. The crime scene investigation later concluded Tuesday, and Rindge Avenue and nearby roadways were reopened to normal traffic.
Police said there is not believed to be any ongoing danger to the community as a result of the incident. The investigation remains ongoing, and officers and detectives will remain in the area.
