Cape Cod Fishing Report- September 24, 2026 (onthewater.com) — Anglers in and around Falmouth are seeing improved local striped bass action from shore, even as an approaching nor'easter disrupts albie and bonito trips. Eastman's Sport and Tackle in Falmouth reports quality stripers on eels, albies within casting range along south-side beaches, and green crabs in stock for tautog once seas settle, with strong safety warnings for the stormy weekend.
   

2. Cape and Islands boys soccer rankings Nantucket jumps to No. 2 (capecodtimes.com) — Falmouth High boys soccer is holding its own in a very competitive Cape and Islands field, rebounding from a loss to Nantucket with three straight shutout wins. The Clippers' veteran defensive duo has anchored five clean sheets in seven games, keeping them firmly in the top tier of regional rankings as the title race heats up.
   

3. Nor'easter prompts tree trimming, ferry cancellations on Cape Cod (wcvb.com) — Falmouth crews have been trimming trees along Route 28 to reduce the risk of branches bringing down power lines as a nor'easter approaches. Fire Chief Jeffrey Lewis warns that fully leafed trees can act like sails in high winds, while ferry operators across the Cape and islands are canceling or adjusting weekend service and waiving change fees for travelers.
   

4. Palm Beach Obituaries-September 25, 2026 (bocaratontribune.com) — Among several recent deaths noted in this obituary roundup is Mary E. "Mee" Whelan, who divided her time between Falmouth and Naples, Florida and died September 23 at age 91. Raised in Dorchester and a graduate of Archbishop Cushing Central High School, she is remembered alongside other individuals with deep ties to Florida and New England communities.
