📰 News we're reading

• A Massachusetts pilot connects 135 homes to a shared geothermal loop for $10 a month, but every other utility customer is footing part of the bill too (gcn.com) — Framingham residents on one street are testing a first-in-the-nation, utility-owned geothermal network that now heats and cools 36 buildings for a flat $10 a month. The pilot, funded largely through Eversource's wider customer base, will run two heating and cooling seasons before regulators decide whether to make this model permanent or expand it to other neighborhoods.

• High school soccer notebook: Greater Lowell girls aiming high after hot start (bostonherald.com) — Framingham's girls' soccer team currently tops the Bay State Conference Carey Division, sitting just ahead of reigning Division 1 state champion Natick at 5-3-2. The notebook also highlights Greater Lowell's explosive Division 3 start and Natick's senior-led depth, offering context on how Framingham's rivals are shaping up for the stretch run and postseason.
