• Marblehead Little Theatre Plans 70th Anniversary Fundraiser At Abbot Hall (patch.com) — Marblehead residents are invited to celebrate Marblehead Little Theatre's 70th anniversary with a "Homecoming Through the Years" fundraiser at Abbot Hall on Sept. 19. The evening will feature live performances, light refreshments, a raffle, and a silent auction, highlighting the history of one of New England's oldest continuously producing community theaters founded in Marblehead in 1955.

• Marblehead widens pool of police candidates (marbleheadweeklynews.com) — Marblehead is changing how it hires police officers after 41 outreach notices for two open positions produced only two completed applications. The Select Board has authorized a new hybrid system that keeps the town in civil service while adding a local candidate register, aiming to attract more qualified officers and reduce staffing gaps that strain overtime and specialty assignments.

• Peabody shul donates two Torahs to Jewish summer camps (jewishjournal.org) — A longtime Peabody synagogue that recently sold its building has donated two of its Torah scrolls to Jewish summer camps, while continuing services with help from Temple Tiferet Shalom and Temple Sinai in Marblehead. The Marblehead partnership includes housing Torahs in an ark built by a local congregant and shared programming that keeps the small congregation's traditions active for the next generation.
