MELROSE, MA — A physical therapy practice has moved into a larger location in Melrose as it continues operating three clinics throughout the northern Boston area.
Fitzgerald Physical Therapy Associates has relocated from 2 Washington St. to a new space across the street at 1 Washington St. The family-owned practice also operates locations in Woburn and Wilmington.
The new location features more than 5,000 square feet of expanded treatment and training areas, along with on-site parking. The Melrose Chamber of Commerce recently celebrated the space with Mayor Jen Grigoraitis joining the organization.

The practice’s previous Washington Street location occupied ground-floor commercial space in a residential building. A May 2016 update from the mayor’s office outlined plans for Fitzgerald to open at 2 Washington St., with the practice expected to be operational by July of that year.
Fitzgerald first opened in Malden in 2003 before moving to Melrose. The practice later added its Woburn location and opened a third clinic in Wilmington in early 2023.
The business also has involvement in local events and sponsorships, including serving as the title sponsor of the Melrose Run for Women.
The practice lists hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, with hours subject to patient demand.
