• Boston-based Wine Pop-up Getting Permanent Home In Somerville (patch.com) — Somerville residents can look forward to a new natural wine bar and event space as First Crush Boston settles into a permanent home at 259 Washington Street in Union Square. After two years of pop-up events, owner Gabrielle Malina is building out the former Juliet Social Club space, with plans to open this fall and continue hosting accessible, community-focused wine gatherings.
   

• Somerville Firefighters To Host Cancer Screening Event (patch.com) — Somerville Firefighters Local 76 is teaming up with United Diagnostic Services to offer multi-cancer and cardiovascular screenings at the Dante Club in Somerville this September. The painless, ultrasound-based tests aim to catch serious conditions early, inspired by a fellow firefighter's successful early cancer detection. Firefighters must pre-register, fast beforehand, and follow specific water intake instructions to participate.
