Jonathan Sullivan Launches Write-In Campaign for Sudbury School Committee
Sudbury residents will head to the polls to vote on two open seats on the Sudbury School Committee.

SUDBURY, MA — In less than two weeks, Sudbury residents will head to the polls to vote on two open seats on the Sudbury School Committee, and resident Jonathan Sullivan has launched a write-in campaign for the election.
Sullivan, a Sudbury parent, announced his candidacy as a write-in on Tuesday. The six-year Sudbury resident who works as a financial advisor said he was drawn to the town by the reputation of its schools.
He has two children who attend Peter Noyes Elementary School, and he says his decision to run is both personal and informed by conversations he's had with other parents and community members.

Sullivan told Patch that over the past several months, he has spoken with many parents who care deeply about the school system but have been hesitant to run because of the divisiveness surrounding recent elections.
"I understand those concerns, but I also believe our schools are too important to sit on the sidelines," Sullivan told Patch. "A write-in campaign isn’t easy, but I’m willing to take that on because our students, educators, and families deserve steady, thoughtful leadership focused on keeping our schools strong and moving the district forward."

Sudbury’s top priorities right now
When asked about the top three issues facing Sudbury currently, Sullivan told Patch that he believes the School Committee must refocus on its core responsibilities.
According to Sullivan, those responsibilities include maintaining excellence in our schools, ensuring fiscal responsibility and providing transparent, accountable leadership and communication.
"My focus would be on helping ensure the School Committee is collaborative, focused, and working effectively to support students, educators, and district leadership," Sullivan told Patch. "As a parent in the district with a professional background in finance, I would bring a practical, steady approach—keeping decisions centered on student success, responsible oversight, and clear communication.
Sullivan brings a professional background in finance and fiscal management, skills he says are relevant to the School Committee's role in overseeing district finances and ensuring the responsible stewardship of taxpayer resources.
“The School Committee plays a critical role in setting clear goals, maintaining transparency, and providing strong financial oversight,” Sullivan said. “I believe careful stewardship of resources and open communication with the community are essential to building trust and supporting long-term success.”
Sullivan said he is also actively involved in the Sudbury community as a youth sports coach, a board member for multiple local sports organizations, and a board member for Sudbury For Wounded Warriors.
