📰 News we're reading
• Wilmington, Tewksbury dump Flock cameras (homenewshere.com) — Tewksbury police have ended their contract with Flock Safety's license plate reader cameras after months of resident pushback over privacy and data use, and the town has notified the company it's terminating the deal. Residents will vote Oct. 6 on two warrant articles to regulate surveillance technology, even as nearby Wilmington also shuts its cameras off and Woburn keeps its system running. The debate centers on who controls millions of data points collected from cars driving through Tewksbury.

• Friday's HS roundup: Tyngsboro, Shawsheen football teams stay red hot (lowellsun.com) — Tewksbury athletes had a busy Friday, with girls soccer celebrating their first home game under the lights at Doucette Stadium by blanking Methuen 4–0 and honoring late girls hockey coach Dave O'Hearn while raising pancreatic cancer awareness. The Methuen/Tewksbury swim team also shined with seven first-place finishes in an MVC meet, and Tewksbury teams saw mixed results in volleyball and boys soccer. Local rivals Wilmington and Burlington also battled in football and field hockey.

• Lindsay Clancy's fate remains in limbo. Here's what happens next (miamiherald.com) — Lindsay Clancy remains hospitalized at Tewksbury Hospital in Tewksbury as prosecutors decide whether to retry her after a mistrial in the deaths of her three children. A judge just denied her bid for a required not-guilty finding and ordered both sides back to court Nov. 2 to argue more motions and possibly set a new trial date. The high-profile case continues to spotlight Tewksbury's state psychiatric facility.
