• Massachusetts Fire Departments Achieve Nation's Fourth-Highest Emergency Response Reporting Rate (thereadingpost.com) — Walpole's fire department is among several in Massachusetts that volunteered early to adopt a new national emergency response data system, helping the state reach a 90% reporting rate. The system, called NERIS, lets officials analyze near-real-time incident data to improve funding decisions, staffing, fire prevention efforts, and planning for big events or disasters across the state.
