• 30 Local Firefighters Graduate from Firefighting Academy (advocatenews.net) — Waltham readers can celebrate Firefighter John Shanley, who not only graduated from the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy's 50-day Career Recruit Training Program but also earned the class's top Bangs Outstanding Student Award. He and fellow recruits from across the state completed intensive training in fire attack, rescue, and hazardous materials response, preparing to protect their communities with nationally certified skills.
