• Billerica police K-9 KC recovering after being hit by car during investigation, police say (bostonglobe.com) — An 18‑month‑old Billerica police K‑9 named KC is recovering after being struck by a car and rushed to MassVet in Woburn, where she received treatment and support from officers. The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with Lowell police, and Billerica's chief says KC, named for fallen Officer Kenneth Collins, is expected to heal at home with her handler.
   

• Murder warrant issued in Reading (newportdispatch.com) — A Reading man accused of killing a 49-year-old woman is expected to be brought back from Vermont to face arraignment at Woburn District Court. Investigators say the victim was found with a gunshot wound in a Center Avenue home, and authorities quickly issued a murder warrant and regional alert before locating the suspect later that day.
