2 Men Face Cocaine, Fentanyl Trafficking Charges In Worcester
Detectives found crack cocaine, fentanyl and other drug paraphernalia, according to police.
WORCESTER, MA — Two men are facing charges Friday after Worcester police said vice detectives observed two suspected drug transactions on Main Street.
Edison Flores, 24, and Jorge Alvarez-Delvalle, 19, face cocaine and fentanyl trafficking charges following a vehicle stop near Main and Wellington streets and a search of an Allen Street apartment, according to police.
Vice detectives had search warrants for the apartment and a black Mercedes, with Flores named as the target, police said. Detectives watched Flores and Alvarez-Delvalle leave the apartment in the vehicle before following them.
Police said the Mercedes’ occupants appeared to conduct two separate drug transactions with people on Main Street.
Detectives stopped the Mercedes while it was parked near Main and Wellington streets. Flores tried to flee on foot and resisted officers’ attempts to take him into custody, according to police.
Detectives found about 75 grams of crack cocaine and 20 grams of fentanyl packaged for sale in a cross-body bag Flores was carrying, police said.
A subsequent search of the Allen Street apartment yielded another 10 grams of fentanyl and drug paraphernalia, according to police.
Flores and Alvarez-Delvalle were charged with trafficking cocaine between 36 and 99 grams, trafficking a Class A substance between 18 and 36 grams and trafficking fentanyl. Flores also faces a resisting arrest charge.
