Celebration of Caring to Raise Funds for VNA Care and Rose Monahan Hospice Home

Worcester Community Cabinet volunteers plan annual benefit supporting home health and hospice services

Worcester-area residents and business leaders are coming together once again to support VNA Care’s mission through Celebration of Caring, an annual benefit for the nonprofit’s home health care, hospice services, and the Rose Monahan Hospice Home. The event will be held on Thursday, Sept. 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Worcester Country Club, 2 Rice St., Worcester.

For 140 years, VNA Care has helped people receive high-quality health care where they are most comfortable — at home and in their communities. Its home health clinicians help patients recover after surgery or hospitalization, manage chronic and complex illnesses, and maintain their independence. For individuals facing a terminal illness, VNA Care's hospice team provides expert pain and symptom management, emotional support, and compassionate end-of-life care in patients' homes, assisted living and skilled nursing facilities, and at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester.

Proceeds from Celebration of Caring help ensure that patients and families throughout Central Massachusetts have access to these essential services when they need them most.

The event is organized by VNA Care’s Worcester Area Community Cabinet, a volunteer group dedicated to raising awareness and support for the organization’s mission. Cabinet members include Janet Birbara, Linda Haddad, Robin Spaulding, and Mary Whalen, all of Worcester; Liisa Holm of Marsh McLennan Agency in Worcester; Susan Carrigan, RN, WCC, and Cheryl Milas, both of VNA Care in Worcester; Mary Surette of Shrewsbury; and Linda Maykel, DDS, of Dudley.

Guests will enjoy a cocktail reception, small-plate dining, live music, and an inspiring behind-the-scenes look at how VNA Care's clinicians make a difference every day in the lives of patients and families across the region.

Marsh McLennan Agency is the Presenting Sponsor.

"Every day, we see the difference compassionate care can make for individuals and families facing some of life's most challenging moments," said Karen Webber, director of fund development for VNA Care. "Celebration of Caring brings our community together to help ensure that more people can receive the expert home health and hospice care they need, regardless of the circumstances they are facing. We are incredibly grateful to our Community Cabinet, sponsors, and supporters for making that possible."

VNA Care is able to provide its broad range of nursing and patient care services through the generosity of individual donors, corporate partners, and community supporters.
