Man, Woman Shot Inside Worcester Cigar Bar
Two people were in stable condition after being shot overnight Wednesday.
WORCESTER, MA — Two people were shot early Wednesday morning inside a Shrewsbury Street cigar bar, according to Worcester police.
A man and a woman were shot shortly after 12:30 a.m. inside Victory Cigar Bar, at 56 Shrewsbury St., according to police. Officers were called immediately and gave medical aid using chest seals before both victims were taken to a local hospital.
Both victims were conscious and alert when they were transported, police said. Both underwent surgery and were in stable condition Wednesday morning.
No suspect was in custody, but police said there was no reason to believe there was a danger to the public.
The exterior of the building and the roadway were shut down for about two hours after the shooting. Police said the investigation inside the business was still ongoing.
