Worcester Police Seek Man Charged In Worcester Common Stabbing

WORCESTER, MA — Worcester police are asking for the public’s help as detectives try to find a man charged in connection with a stabbing behind City Hall last week.

The Worcester Police Detective Bureau is attempting to locate LeShawn Parrish in connection with a stabbing reported on Friday at Worcester Common behind Worcester City Hall, 455 Main St.

Parrish, 44, has been charged with assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, a sharp object, and there is an active warrant for his arrest, according to police. He was described as a 5-foot-7 and 180 lb. Black male with brown eyes and black hair.

A woman was seriously injured in the stabbing, according to Worcester police.

Police said officers were called to 455 Main St. at about 11:02 a.m. Friday, a female victim reported that she had been stabbed. Officers provided basic medical care at the scene using a chest seal bandage before the woman was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, according to police.

The case remains under investigation.
