Worcester School Ranked Best Public High School In MA

WORCESTER, MA — A Worcester school topped a new ranking of the best public high schools in Massachusetts.

The Massachusetts Academy of Math and Science was ranked No. 1 in the state in Niche’s 2027 Best Schools and Districts in America rankings released Monday. The online school platform analyzed 93,000 public schools, 30,000 private schools and 11,000 school districts nationwide.

Mass Academy, located at 85 Prescott St., is a tuition-free, coeducational school that enrolls about 100 academically accelerated 11th- and 12th-grade students from across Massachusetts.

The school emphasizes math and science through a comprehensive academic program. Students take rigorous junior-year courses at the academy followed by senior-year classes at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, giving them experience with college-level academics before graduating from high school, according to Mass Academy.

How Niche Ranks Schools
