Across Metro Detroit counties, physicians are also seeing more seasonal allergies, respiratory viruses, and sports injuries, and they urge residents to keep up on vaccines, handwashing, and basic safety habits. 
• Michigan Men's Health Foundation Event Offers Free Screenings Saturday (whmi.com) — A Brighton resident credits a free men's health event at Wayne State University with detecting his aggressive prostate cancer in time to save his life. Men 18 and older can get free screenings, lunch, and even a haircut in Detroit this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with checks for blood pressure, prostate, colorectal, kidney disease, and more.
• Howell QB continues to make most of rare passing, leads team past Wayne Memorial (livingstondaily.com) — Howell's run-heavy offense and efficient quarterback play kept their unbeaten season alive, setting up a looming showdown with Brighton in the coming weeks. With Howell now 5-0 and eyeing Hartland first, the article notes that the Brighton game will be one of the toughest tests in their schedule and a key measure of both teams' conference hopes.
