2 Dead, Baby Found Safe In Detroit Shooting: Police

Investigators believe this was a targeted attack.

DETROIT — Two people were shot to death in Detroit on Wednesday, according to police.

The shooting happened at 1:49 p.m. in the 9600 block of McKinney Street, according to police.

ShotSpotter alerted officers that nine shots were fired quickly, followed by another three shots in the area, according to police.

When officers arrived, they found a man and woman shot dead in two separate vehicles, according to police.

They also found an uninjured one-month-old infant in the backseat of one of the vehicles, according to police.

Investigators believe the shooter walked up to the vehicles, which were parked outside a home, and opened fire in what they are calling a targeted attack.

It was unclear if the victims lived in the home.

Police did not provide a description of the shooter nor identify the victims, as they are still investigating the incident.
