Most Detroit area Catholic priests will be reassigned to new parishes (detroitnews.com) — Most priests in the Archdiocese of Detroit will be reassigned to new parishes as part of a sweeping restructuring that creates new pastorates across Detroit and surrounding counties. Detailed assignments will be announced in April 2027 and take effect July 1, 2027, reshaping parish leadership and potentially Mass schedules for Catholic residents over the following year.

Their frustration has grown after another family recently raised concerns about a mistaken cremation there, prompting questions about how the funeral home is handling local residents' loved ones.
   

5. 2029 AERA Annual Meeting to Be Held in Detroit (aera.net) — Detroit will host the 2029 AERA Annual Meeting April 18–22, centered at Huntington Place with headquarters hotels at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center and JW Marriott at Water Square.
