Body of Canadian boater who fell from craft recovered in Grosse Pointe Farms (candgnews.com) — A Canadian boater's body was recovered along the Grosse Pointe Farms shoreline after he fell overboard near the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club earlier this month, prompting a multi-agency search and delaying the Farms' End of Summer Bash fireworks. Local public safety leaders are urging Grosse Pointe boaters to wear lifejackets and know exactly where their safety gear is stored before heading out. 
2. Veronica Babbage Smith (grossepointenews.com) — Longtime Grosse Pointe Unitarian Church member Veronica Babbage Smith, a devoted volunteer and music lover, has died after a recurrence of cancer. Friends and neighbors are invited to her memorial service and reception at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, at Grosse Pointe Unitarian Church on Maumee, with suggested memorial donations benefiting several organizations she cherished.
3. North bounces back with win over Fitzgerald (grossepointenews.com) — Grosse Pointe North's varsity football team shook off last week's loss by grinding out a 20–13 road win over Warren Fitzgerald after power issues forced their home game to be moved. Strong defense, big plays from senior leaders, and clutch kicking pushed the Norsemen to 3–1 as they prepare to visit Lake Shore this Friday night.

Famed pizza reviewer puts spotlight on Detroit area restaurants (bnd.com) — Metro Detroit's buzziest pizza reviewer, Dave Portnoy, recently rated Fresh Farms Market in Grosse Pointe a strong 7.9, putting it among his top local stops. His latest videos also spotlight new hot spot Amelia Street Pizza and other metro Detroit favorites, giving Grosse Pointe residents fresh bragging rights and ideas for their next pizza run.
