• UIA Investigation Findings Address Unemployment Fraud (sbam.org) — A Howell-based lawmaker is leading a 10-bill package to crack down on unemployment fraud and improve how Michigan's Unemployment Insurance Agency handles claims. The House oversight subcommittee, chaired by Rep. Jason Woolford, approved findings that would tighten fraud detection, require better data checks, and mandate clearer notices and annual error-rate reporting for claimants statewide.
