• KPS officials taking additional precautions, but say school will be open Monday despite boil water advisory (wtvbam.com) — Kalamazoo Public Schools will stay open Monday even as much of the city remains under a boil water advisory, with fountains shut off and bottled water brought in for students and staff. Food service is adjusting menus and using the unaffected District Kitchen, while city testing so far shows no E. coli, raising hopes the advisory could be lifted soon.
   

• Metal fabricator that once made 1940s 'Pony Cruisers' celebrates 75 years in Portage (wwmt.com) — A Portage-based metal fabricator now known as Unifab Corporation is marking 75 years in business, tracing its roots back to the 1940s Kalamazoo Coaches "Pony Cruiser" buses. Leadership says the company has evolved with changing manufacturing needs while maintaining a focus on quality and long-term relationships with employees and customers in the region.
   

• Vicksburg Community Schools enrolled 2,560 students in 2024-25 (kalamazootimes.com) — Families in and around Kalamazoo County may be interested that Vicksburg Community Schools enrolled 2,560 students in 2024-25, a slight 1.5% dip from the prior year. The district's six schools, including Vicksburg High with 724 students, operate within a statewide system where per-pupil funding rose to $10,050 and free meals and pre-K were fully funded.
