• State grant reduced by $50m for Michigan battery maker (mlive.com) — A major Novi-based battery maker, Our Next Energy, just had its Michigan state grant cut from $200 million to $150 million while gaining flexibility to place more investment and jobs at its Novi facility. The company is pivoting from auto batteries toward defense, rail, and grid storage markets, which could reshape future job growth and industrial activity around the city.
