Search ongoing for solo hiker, 70, reported missing on Isle Royale (bringmethenews.com) — A 70-year-old Royal Oak resident, Craig Berg, is missing after failing to return from a solo hiking trip on Isle Royale, where he was due to catch a ferry on September 5. The National Park Service is actively searching, and his family says he was hiking slowly with trekking poles, jeans, brown boots, and a light-blue backpack when last known to be on the island.

Niis Sign to Rise Records, Announce New EP (rocksound.tv) — Royal Oak music fans can see Niis live when they join Movements, Balance & Composure, and Midrift at the Royal Oak Music Theatre on October 20. The band is also releasing their new EP "Play Niis" on October 23, previewed by the early-2000s-flavored single "Earthquakes."
