• Construction expected to start on Corewell Troy tower in summer 2027 (detroitnews.com) — Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital is planning a $440 million, eight-story tower and new parking deck on Dequindre Road, with construction starting in summer 2027 and finishing by 2030. The project will add 108 beds, expand private rooms, and improve emergency department access, aiming to ease chronic overcrowding as Troy and nearby communities continue to grow.
   

• Detroit Tigers ace to hold meet and greet at Troy's Somerset Collection (mlive.com) — Detroit Tigers pitcher Troy Melton is coming to Somerset Collection North in Troy for an autograph signing and meet-and-greet on Thursday, Sept. 10, from 5–7 p.m. at The Detroit Shoppe. Fans will need advance tickets for photos and autographs as the Tigers continue their late-season playoff push.
   

• Detroit man sentenced for role in auto theft ring (candgnews.com) — Troy residents should know their police department played a central role in dismantling a metro Detroit auto theft ring that hit dealerships, storage lots and homes across the region. Working with Michigan's FORCE Team and many neighboring departments, Troy Police helped secure a five- to 20-year prison sentence for a Detroit man and contributed to more than a dozen related convictions since 2024.
