Ilhan Omar's August 6 town hall at the Richfield Community Center, and local police say they weren't told in advance. Omar is demanding detailed answers from HSI about why the agent was there, how the operation was coordinated with Richfield authorities, and whether similar surveillance has occurred at other events.

• Fake LLCs, Stolen Checks: Inside the Alleged Twin Cities Fraud Scheme (townhall.com) — Richfield residents should know their police department helped investigate a large alleged check-fraud scheme that targeted Twin Cities banks and credit unions. Federal prosecutors say conspirators stole business mail, created fake Minnesota LLCs, and tried to move more than $5 million, with over $1.5 million allegedly lost before agencies including Richfield Police and the MN Financial Crimes Task Force intervened.
