• Community Spotlight: Hamasa Shriners Steak Night Returns to Marion (marionms.org) — Tonight’s Hamasa Shriners Steak Night in Marion, hosted by the Lauderdale County Shrine Club, offers residents a $25 steak dinner from 5–7 p.m. at 5516 Dale Drive. Proceeds support the club’s charitable work across Lauderdale County, giving neighbors a chance to enjoy a good meal while backing local service efforts. 
• New Terminal at Meridian Regional Airport on Track for January 2027 Opening (wtok.com) — Meridian Regional Airport’s new terminal, a major upgrade for local travelers, is on track to open in January 2027, with construction finishing this fall. Airport leaders say the facility already drives about 4.6% of Lauderdale County’s GDP and could grow its impact if more residents choose to fly from Meridian instead of larger airports.
• Marion PD Foundation holds annual scholarship awards (meridianstar.com) — Lauderdale County officials joined Marion Police Department Foundation leaders to honor 25 local high school graduates with 2026 scholarships. Speakers from Marion and East Mississippi encouraged students to embrace challenges, avoid regret, and work hard as they head into college or technical training, highlighting the region’s investment in its young people.
