• Volleyball Preview: After a Season-Low Score, Forest's Offense Gets Another Shot Against Meridian (maxpreps.com) — Meridian volleyball fans can catch the Wildcats hosting Forest at 9 a.m. Saturday, with both teams eager to bounce back from recent losses. Meridian enters the home matchup at 3-13 after falling to Pearl, while Forest arrives 16-5 but coming off its first district defeat, setting up a motivated showdown on the court.
   

• Local community leaders invited to tour battleship (meridianstar.com) — Meridian residents may be interested to know that City Council member Elliot Brewer and local business leader Jimmy Copeland were chosen by NAS Meridian for a special Navy visit aboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower. During the trip they watched pilots who train at NAS Meridian land on the carrier, toured key areas of the ship, and came home emphasizing stronger appreciation for military service.
   

• Jeremy Paul Goodman (cheathamcountysource.com) — Meridian readers should know that 43-year-old Jeremy Paul Goodman died Wednesday after a serious accident in Meridian. The Pleasant View, Tennessee resident, an electrical engineer, Army veteran, and devoted family man, will be remembered at services in Pleasant View on Tuesday, September 15, with visitation the same day and burial to follow nearby.
