• Two men charged in Monroe County assault near Thad Cochran Lock and Dam (darkhorsepressnow.com) — A Monroe County man injured in an alleged assault near the Thad Cochran Lock and Dam was stabilized locally, then transferred to a trauma center in Tupelo for further treatment. Two suspects now face aggravated assault and conspiracy charges, with the sheriff’s office continuing to investigate and asking anyone with information to contact investigators.

• Colorado football loads up for major recruiting weekend in Boulder (usatoday.com) — A standout Tupelo High School running back, Kylan Bobo, is drawing national attention as he visits the University of Colorado this weekend as part of a major recruiting push. The three-star prospect from Tupelo is coming off a huge junior season and has Colorado among his final four college choices, alongside Arkansas, Memphis, and Minnesota.
