Reed Road in Kansas City to the Islamic Society of Greater Kansas City for $1.4 million. District leaders say turning the closed school into an education-focused community partner will help stabilize finances after deep cuts, while keeping the site active for neighborhood families.

After Missouri's Supreme Court and now the U.S. Supreme Court rejected a Trump-backed gerrymander, a federal appeals hearing next week will probe whether changing maps after the primary violates voters' rights, but legal experts say time is running out for any switch.
