City of St. Louis Protects Tornado Victims with Launch of Contractor Fraud Legal Task Force (stlouis-mo.gov) — St. Louis residents recovering from the 2025 tornado now have a new legal task force to help them fight contractor fraud and scams tied to rebuilding. The city, Legal Services of Eastern Missouri, and the Missouri Attorney General's Office are partnering with top local attorneys to screen cases, offer free representation, and pursue bad actors. Residents who suspect fraud can already begin seeking help online.
   

2. Street Department Names Dale Lee as New Towing Commissioner (stlouis-mo.gov) — St. Louis has appointed longtime emergency management professional and Army veteran Dale Lee as the new Commissioner of Towing, overseeing 24/7 operations that handle about 25 vehicles a day. City leaders say his logistics background should improve efficiency and service quality for residents whose vehicles are towed or stored at the Tow Lot.
   

3. Volunteers clean up bikeway along McKinley Bridge (firstalert4.com) — Volunteers, including local utility workers and Trailnet members, spent Thursday morning cleaning the bike path on the McKinley Bridge, which links north St. Louis City to the Metro East. They removed glass and trash to make daily commutes and recreation safer, while advocates stressed that maintaining existing trails builds trust and support for future walking and biking infrastructure.
   

4. 4 charged after St. Louis County fender-bender escalated into brutal beating of man caught on camera (firstalert4.com) — A minor fender‑bender on Jennings Station Road in St. Louis County turned into a brutal beating that left retired truck driver Lance Jeffries hospitalized and four people now facing robbery, assault, and burglary charges. Police say video shared widely around St. Louis helped identify the suspects, who allegedly punched, kicked, and stomped Jeffries before stealing his wallet, keys, and donations in his car. His family describes him as a quiet, retired family man.
   

5. My Mother's Roots gives away $10K in free gas at Black‑owned St. Louis BP station (stlamerican.com) — Drivers in north St. Louis got a welcome break when local child care center My Mother's Roots spent $10,000 on free gas at a longtime Black‑owned BP station on Kingshighway. With prices topping $4 a gallon in the St. Louis area, the giveaway helped residents juggling work, school, and family stay on the road. Organizers say it's about investing directly back into their neighborhood.
