1. Deal Digest: MARC Buys Five FMs In Two Florida Markets. (insideradio.com) — Two silent Missoula FM stations, KMSO 102.5 and KHDV 107.9, are set to be sold for $190,000 to Jake Eaton's Big Sky Broadcasting in an entirely seller‑financed deal. Once the sale closes, longtime owner Sheila Callahan & Friends will exit radio, potentially paving the way for fresh local programming options when the signals return to the air.
   

2. Missoula Housing Authority navigates wait list, vouchers (missoulacurrent.com) — Missoula's Housing Authority reports nearly full use of housing vouchers while more than 2,400 local households remain on the subsidized housing wait list. Officials described efforts to update the list, recruit landlords for veterans, speed up unit turnarounds, and begin renovations at Wildflower Apartments, all of which could affect how quickly Missoulians find or keep affordable housing.
   

3. Fraudsters hit Missoula College in national financial aid 'ghost student' scheme (newsfromthestates.com) — Missoula College was hit by a nationwide "ghost student" financial aid scam that siphoned off more than $670,000 in federal funds, leaving the University of Montana with a significant net loss despite repaying Washington. Officials describe how identity‑stealing bots exploited online enrollment, and outline new verification checks and monitoring now in place to better protect Missoula students and taxpayers.
   

4. Missoula Postal Workers Union raise concerns over removal of letter sorting machine (kpax.com) — USPS plans to remove one of four letter-sorting machines from Missoula's Kent Avenue facility, prompting union concerns about possible winter mail delays and job impacts. Postal leaders insist the change, scheduled after the 2026 election, will boost efficiency through equipment upgrades and route consolidation, while workers urge residents to stay alert to evolving local and national postal changes.
   

5. Water shut off for Rock Creek campground (nbcmontana.com) — If you're camping at Bitterroot Flat in the Rock Creek area of the Missoula Ranger District, you'll need to bring your own drinking water for the rest of the season. Water was shut off after a test found coliform bacteria, and all Rock Creek campground systems will be winterized September 28 and retested before reopening in spring 2027.
