Missoula mobile park residents fear "soulless investment firm" (missoulacurrent.com subscription) — Residents of two Missoula County mobile home parks are pressing an out-of-state owner over steep lot rent hikes and poor communication, prompting county officials to send a second letter urging dialogue. The county is also asking the firm to consider selling so residents can form a resident-owned community, while some locals call for stronger statewide protections for mobile home residents.
   

2. Neptune Aviation hosts first Girls in Aviation Day to inspire young women in Missoula (kpax.com) — Young women in Missoula can explore aviation careers hands-on this Saturday at Neptune Aviation's free Girls in Aviation Day, running from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants can climb into aircraft, meet pilots and mechanics, and learn about many aviation roles, but advance registration through Neptune's website is required.
   

3. Missoula County Commissioners adopt final fiscal year 2027 budget (seeleylake.com) — Missoula County has adopted its 2027 budget, and homeowners can now estimate exactly how much they'll owe in county property taxes using simple formulas for addresses inside or outside Missoula city limits. The budget raises total county tax revenue by $6.2 million, funds wage and healthcare cost increases, and directs new road and bridge money to areas outside city limits without using the maximum levy allowed.
   

4. DNRC program builds wildland fire vehicles in Montana (dailyfly.com) — A state wildfire vehicle program based in Missoula is building and maintaining Type 5 engines that protect communities across Montana while saving taxpayers significant money. Staff at the Spurgin Road facility both construct and service these trucks, many of them also serving as wildland firefighters. Recent state funding is helping expand this made‑in‑Montana approach to wildfire readiness.
   

5. Bad News for Fans of This Popular Hot Springs Near Missoula (missoulacurrent.com) — Access to Nimrod Hot Springs, a favorite roadside soak between Missoula and Drummond, has been fully closed to the public after landowners revoked long-standing permission to visit. Local residents who've enjoyed the underwater cave and natural pools are now warned that entering is trespassing and could lead to prosecution, so old online directions should no longer be used.
