Missoula Co. hosts wildfire preparedness event (nbcmontana.com) — Missoula County just hosted a free wildfire-preparedness workshop to help local homeowners reduce fire risk around their properties, from changing landscaping to cleaning gutters. County and federal experts also urged residents to schedule free wildfire risk assessments available through Missoula County, the state DNRC, and the U.S. Forest Service.

Douglas Allen Ebel (bitterrootstar.com) — Friends and neighbors are remembering Florence resident Douglas Allen Ebel, a longtime concrete contractor who worked on many projects in Missoula and the Bitterroot Valley. The Army veteran, sports fan, and family man died August 17 and is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings in Missoula and Stevensville, and extended family.
