Backed by a national grant, local partners will survey neighbors, host workshops, and explore ideas like more trees, green space, and potential housing to reduce heat, flooding, and other climate impacts in the historically redlined area.
   

2. Creighton, Children's Nebraska partner to fill health care gaps (wowt.com) — Omaha families who struggle to access health care have new options through a partnership between Creighton and Children's Nebraska. The student-run Magis Clinic and the Child Safety Center offer free services ranging from injury-prevention tools and car seats to medication refills, mental health care, and women's health, helping residents bridge gaps when insurance or cost gets in the way.
   

3. Sculpture honoring Omaha's "Broom Man" Rev. Livingston Wills dedicated in Midtown's Turner Park on Wednesday (3newsnow.com) — If you're near Midtown, there's a new piece of Omaha history to visit in Turner Park: a sculpture honoring beloved "Broom Man" Rev. Livingston Wills. Neighbors, friends, and officials gathered for the dedication, sharing memories of his impact across the city, with a commemorative plaque still to be added in the coming months.
   

4. A Grow Omaha Tasty Burger Tour, Part 2 (omaha.com) — Hungry for a new burger spot close to home? Lyons man accused of stealing urn with victim's mother's ashes in Omaha burglary (wowt.com) — An Omaha tenant reported that a Lyons man broke into his apartment and allegedly stole several items, including an urn containing his mother's ashes. Omaha police say surveillance footage and prior arrest records helped identify the suspect, who now faces a felony burglary charge and is scheduled for a court appearance Thursday in Douglas County.
