North Omaha Visitors Center frames North O as tourist destination (thereader.com) — North Omaha's new Visitors Center on North 24th Street is quickly becoming a hub for showcasing the neighborhood's history, culture, and emerging businesses while guiding residents and tourists to local attractions. Backed by major public and private investment, the center offers tours, event space, a coffee shop, and a gift store, positioning North Omaha as a growing cultural and economic destination.
   

2. Homes designed by UNL students for older adults unveiled in Omaha (3newsnow.com) — Two newly built homes in Omaha's Benson neighborhood are being unveiled to help older adults live independently, with zero-step entries and other aging-friendly features. Designed by UNL architecture students and built by Holy Name Housing with local partners, the project could become a model for more affordable, accessible homes across Nebraska, with public tours starting next month.
   

3. Douglas County Sheriff gets motorcycle endorsement, warns parents about e-bike dangers (wowt.com) — Douglas County Sheriff Aaron Hanson used a three-day motorcycle course in Omaha to better understand the risks kids face on e-bikes and is urging parents to learn traffic laws before letting children ride on public streets. He and a local instructor are developing a dirt bike school for kids as young as four, even as Hanson's reelection race against Mark Martinez heads toward November.
   

4. Omaha professional loses $50K in tech support scam (wowt.com) — An Omaha young professional lost $50,000 after calling a fake tech-support number from a frightening computer pop-up and being pressured to wire money to a supposed Federal Reserve account. Douglas County investigators say scammers often keep victims on the phone and insist on secrecy, and urge residents to ignore pop-up numbers and contact their bank or law enforcement instead.
   

5. Man in Omaha's Eppley Airfield explosive case says father packed device in his bag (wowt.com) — A man accused of bringing an explosive through TSA at Omaha's Eppley Airfield claims his father accidentally packed the device in his carry-on after setting aside collectibles for him in Lincoln. After hearing arguments over whether it was an explosive or a firework and whether he posed a danger, a federal magistrate in Omaha released him to return home to Oregon under conditions.
