Located near Military Road and Lear Boulevard, the project involves Reno, Sparks, Washoe County, and UNR researchers, with construction running through 2029 and an on-site education center planned.

2. Reno sportsbook sees surge as football season kicks off (kolotv.com) — Reno sportsbooks, especially at the Peppermill, are already packed as football season kicks off, bringing a surge of visitors and energy across the casino floor. Locals and longtime visitors say in-person betting remains a tradition despite apps, while casino leaders warn that unlicensed online betting could eventually threaten Nevada's gaming-tax-funded, no–income tax structure.

3. Reno Police issue 94 traffic citations during August pedestrian safety enforcement (2news.com) — Reno residents should know that police issued 94 citations and 23 warnings in August during a focused pedestrian safety enforcement effort around downtown and other busy areas. Backed by a Nevada traffic safety grant, officers targeted violations by both drivers and pedestrians while reminding everyone to use crosswalks, yield properly, and follow the "Look Up, Look Out" safety message.

4. Asian Autumn Festival Returns to Reno (kolotv.com) — Reno locals can celebrate the Mid‑Autumn season this Saturday at the free Asian Autumn Festival at J Resort's Glow Plaza on North Arlington Avenue.
