CONCORD, NH — Friends of an elderly man who was struck by an SUV on North Main Street in Downtown Concord are attempting to raise money for his recovery.

Ward 6 City Councilor Aislinn Kalob and Leah McGuckin set up a GoFundMe effort, “Help Frank Recover,” to raise $3,500 to help Tyron pay his bills while he is laid up and recovering from surgeries related to a crash on Sept. 25.

“Frank was walking home on his usual route and was struck by a vehicle crossing South Main at Thorndike St.,” they wrote. “He has injuries that will require time in rehab.”

Tyron is 82 and works year-round and pays rent, they said. His extensive injuries will prevent him from earning income for the foreseeable future.

“Any amount raised is going directly to him to help maintain his independence, and this fundraiser was set up after consulting with family,” they said.

At the time of publication, the campaign had raised a little less than $1,400.

News 603 was the first to report the crash.

WMUR-TV reported the next day that police said there had been no arrests made in the case and confirmed Tyron was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
