1. Merrimack approves spending for wastewater treatment (unionleader.com) — Merrimack's Town Council has unanimously approved $250,000 to add a bulk sodium hydroxide storage system at the town's wastewater treatment plant, a change triggered by Anheuser-Busch's departure. The upgrade aims to keep effluent pH within permit limits, protect the already-impaired Merrimack River, and reduce staff exposure to hazardous chemicals while maintaining environmental compliance.
