Seacoast Artists Invited To Design First Night 2027 Logo For Pro Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH, NH — Pro Portsmouth is inviting Seacoast artists to submit designs for the First Night Portsmouth 2027 logo, with entries due Oct. 28.

First Night Portsmouth will be held Thursday, Dec. 31, when the Seacoast will say farewell to 2026 and greet 2027 with the celebration of First Night Portsmouth. The organization said the logo contest continues a tradition tied to its events and comes as Pro Portsmouth begins its 50th year of producing events on the Seacoast.

“This event marks the beginning of Pro Portsmouth’s 50th year of producing events on the Seacoast and once again,” Barbara Massar, the executive director of the org, said, “the organization looks forward to working with the artistic community in creating this year’s First Night logo.”

Massar said graphic design, painting and mixed media are all acceptable, as long as the work can be scanned for use on the button, merchandise, website, etc. The organization said scannable-sized pieces, listed as 8.5 inches by 11 inches, work best. It also said bold colors, with a maximum of six, work well. Emailed submissions should be sent in .jpg format.

Possible themes for the image include celebration, holidays and winter, the Seacoast of New Hampshire, and Pro Portsmouth’s standard of “Arts, Culture, History, Community.” You can view previous First Night Portsmouth logos on the organization’s website.

The top artist will be eligible for a $300 prize. Pro Portsmouth said the selected artwork will appear on all First Night Portsmouth 2027 merchandise, social media, the website, and other event collateral.
