Dr. Jessica Scerbo Appointed Pediatric Department Chair for Jersey Shore University Medical Center

Hackensack Meridian Children’s Health has announced new leadership roles for three of its physicians, strengthening its commitment to pediatric specialty care. Jessica Scerbo, M.D., has been named the new Chair of Pediatrics at Hackensack Meridian K. Hovnanian Children's Hospital at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. This key appointment is announced alongside the naming of Richard Sultan, M.D., and Meghan Tozzi, M.D., to new Chief roles within the Hackensack Meridian Health network. 

Jessica Scerbo, M.D., who served in an interim Chair role for the last 18 months, has also been named as Regional Pediatric Chair for Hackensack Meridian Health’s Southern Region. A dedicated and highly respected physician, Dr. Scerbo also serves as Section Chief of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, which has evolved into a nationally recognized program with significant expansion in clinical volume, clinical trials, and research access under her leadership. She has also been instrumental in strengthening pediatric academic and clinical programs across K. Hovnanian Children's Hospital – which together with Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital – is ranked in the top 50 children’s hospitals in the nation and number one in New Jersey by U.S. News & World Report. In her role as Chair, Scerbo will continue to drive clinical excellence, innovation, and strategic growth for the renowned children's hospital.

The announcement comes with the appointment of two other distinguished physicians to leadership roles:

• Richard Sultan, M.D., has been named the new Chief of Pediatric Neuroscience for K. Hovnanian Children's Hospital. Dr. Sultan is a highly experienced pediatric neurologist who has been instrumental in caring for children with a broad range of conditions including epilepsy, seizure disorders, and cerebral palsy. 
• Meghan Tozzi, M.D., has been appointed Chief of Pediatric Cardiology at Hackensack Meridian Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital at Hackensack University Medical Center. Dr. Tozzi is a board-certified pediatric cardiologist specializing in diagnosing and caring for children with congenital heart disease, with a particular interest in cardiomyopathy and preventive care.
