Asbury Park Museum Launches $500,000 Campaign for Home (thecoaster.net) — Asbury Park residents are being asked to help fund a $500,000 capital campaign to build a permanent home for the Asbury Park Museum at Interfaith Neighbors' new Marmora Center on Springwood Avenue, opening in 2027. The expanded space will showcase local history, music, and multicultural stories year-round, with interactive exhibits and a recreated 1960s WJLK studio aimed at strengthening community pride and tourism beyond the summer season.
   

2. Sisters For A Cure Concert Returns to Asbury Park (wobm.com) — Asbury Park's Stone Pony will host the 3rd Annual Sisters For A Cure benefit concert on Saturday, October 10, 2026, starting at 1 p.m. More than 60 female musicians will perform to raise money for breast cancer causes, with organizers pledging that 100% of proceeds will go to support the Susan G. Komen organization.
   

3. BJ's in Ocean Township reopens three months after roof collapse (app.com) — BJ's Wholesale Club on Route 35 in nearby Ocean Township has reopened three months after part of its roof collapsed during a July rainstorm, restoring a major shopping option for Asbury Park–area residents. Mayor John Napolitani praised the fully restocked store, which had been closed since the flash flooding incident that briefly trapped two people inside but caused no serious injuries.
   

4. Former Asbury Park Sergeant Sues Ocean Township Over Missing Police Records (tapinto.net) — A former Asbury Park police sergeant has sued Ocean Township, claiming officials failed to properly respond to records requests involving retired Asbury Park Police Captain David DeSane. The suit seeks body-camera footage and firearms records, while also highlighting past internal affairs findings and a decades-old assault conviction as courts and state police review how DeSane's history intersects with firearms eligibility and local accountability.
