Man Charged With Sex Trafficking In South Jersey

He sent a woman pictures of herself to show he knew where she was at all times.

CAMDEN, NJ — A 40-year-old man was charged in connection with a prostitution operation where he forced women to have sex under the threat of violence, the New Jersey Attorney General's Office said.

Keith B. Woodson, of Camden, was charged with multiple counts of first-degree human trafficking, promoting prostitution, and aggravated assault after he forced at least two women to have sex with men for money and drugs.

Woodson posted ads featuring the first woman, identified by authorities as "N.G.", on illicit sexual websites to build "clients." He would also solicit men from a bar and a convenience store.

He rented hotel rooms, bought items, arranged meetings between her and the clients, and took all the money afterward.

According to officials, the woman performed these acts against her will in fear that Woodson would hurt her physically or not give her food.

He also threatened to hurt her family if she ever tried to leave.

The woman was supposed to see four or five clients a day, Monday through Friday.

The second woman, identified by authorities as "G.D.", met Woodson as she was getting off a bus in Camden when he told her he could help her make $1,000 per day.

Dependent on drugs, she agreed to perform sex acts for paying men. The money was to go back to Woodson.

He would then supply her with Ecstasy, Percocet, and Adderall.

According to the Attorney General's Office, Woodson threatened G.D. that if she did not continue to perform, she would never see her family again.

When she would not do as he wanted, he choked her to the point that she passed out, threatened to kill her, and threatened to kill her family.

In addition, he would send her pictures of herself walking down a street or in a store to show her that he was watching her and knew where she was at all times.

Each first-degree charge comes with a sentence of 10 to 20 years in jail and a fine of up to $200,000. The third-degree offenses carry a sentence of three to five years in jail and a fine of up to $15,000.
