• Jamaica's honorary consul Christopher Chaplin named International Diplomat of the Year (caribbeannationalweekly.com) — A major America's 250th anniversary gala is coming to the DoubleTree Hotel in Cherry Hill on Sept. 12, honoring diplomats, public safety leaders and community figures. Jamaica's honorary consul in Philadelphia, Christopher Chaplin, will receive International Diplomat of the Year alongside New Jersey leaders like Rep. LaMonica McIver and former Gov. Jim McGreevey. Doors open at 5 p.m., with the program at 6 p.m.
