Light A Candle For Domestic Violence Victims In East Windsor On Oct. 26
Residents can take part in Younity's "Communities of Light" by buying a $15 luminary kit.
EAST WINDSOR, NJ — East Windsor is asking residents and businesses to light up their homes and storefronts on Oct. 26 to show support for victims of domestic violence.
The township is taking part in Younity’s “Communities of Light” event, held during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The event raises money for Younity, formerly known as Womanspace, and draws attention to domestic violence and the help available to victims, Mayor Janice S. Mironov and the Township Council announced.
“We hope that our participation will help focus public attention on the important subject of domestic violence and to encourage residents to become more aware of support efforts available to victims and families,” Mironov said. “As a community, we wish to express our strong support for Womanspace and to recognize the important assistance they provide to victims of domestic violence.”
