Sports run deep in Jefferson, and Jefferson Township High School has long been at the heart of it. It’s no surprise some standout talent once wore the Falcons uniform. Today we're celebrating five unforgettable athletes from Jefferson Township High School who made a name for themselves well beyond the hometown field.


1. Mike Leach - Former NFL Long Snapper

Mike Leach was a standout multi-sport athlete at Jefferson Township High School, lettering in football, baseball and basketball. His athleticism showed in being named first-team All-State as a punter and graduating at the time as the school’s all-time leading scorer and rebounder. Leach’s football career continued at Boston University and the College of William & Mary, earning All-American honors at tight end and setting school records at punting and receptions as a tight end. Leach played 16 years in the NFLfor multiple teams, primarily as a long snapper, before retiring from professional play; he now serves as an assistant golf coach at William & Mary. 2. Deonna Lynn Purrazzo - AEW Wrestler

After graduating from Jefferson, Deonna Lynn Purrazzo pursued a career in professional wrestling, debuting in 2013 and rising through the ranks, and continuing to be promoted. During her time in Impact Wrestling, she was a three-time Knockouts World Champion. She signed her latest contract with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) in 2023 and has continued to compete at a high level. 3. Ashley Hutchinson - Former Collegiate Soccer Player

Ashley Hutchinson was a true three-sport standout at Jefferson Township High School, earning a total of 12 varsity letters across soccer, basketball and track & field. She was recognized as a two-time team MVP, four-time All-Morris County selection and served as captain of the soccer team. 4. Dylan Patscher - Former Collegiate Defensive Lineman

Dylan Patscher was a key member of the Falcons football team's defensive line, earning All-County and All-Conference honors, as well as helping lead the charge to winning a State Championship. 5. Corinne Renshaw - Former Collegiate Runner

Recent alum Renshaw was an accomplished distance runner at Jefferson Township High School, competing in both track & field and cross country. She earned Cross Country MVP honors in her senior year and left her mark on the school’s distance program, contributing to relay events and school records. Corinne continued her athletic and academic career at Nova Southeastern University, where she set new personal bests in all three of her events. (Source: NSUSharks.com)
