New Newark Series "Last Thursdays: Politics & Prosecco" Launches to Unite Leaders and Residents for Inclusive Civic Dialogue

Newark, NJ March 26-2026 new monthly civic gathering designed to foster meaningful dialogue across political, cultural, and community lines is launching in Newark. Last Thursdays: Politics & Prosecco will convene residents, business leaders, policymakers, and community advocates on the last Thursday of every month for thoughtful conversations about the issues shaping New Jersey’s future.Hosted by Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, alongside Pastor Steffie Bartley, Northeast Regional Director of National Action Network (NAN), Developer J. Wayman Henry, and Mo Butler, Partner at Mercury Public Affairs, the series will also feature special guest appearances by Analilia Mejia and A 'Dorian Murray-Thomas. The series aims to create a welcoming and inclusive space where individuals from diverse perspectives and lived experiences can engage in open, respectful, and solution-oriented dialogue.“New Jersey moves forward when we create space for honest conversation across different perspectives,” said Ras Baraka. “Last Thursdays: Politics & Prosecco is about bringing people together, including residents, leaders, and innovators, to talk openly about the challenges and opportunities facing our communities. When we sit at the same table and listen to each other, we can find real solutions that make our state stronger for everyone.”Each event will feature rotating co-hosts and guest speakers representing government, business, culture, and civic organizations. Discussions will explore key topics including economic development, education, public safety, housing, entrepreneurship, and pathways for equitable growth across the Garden State.Blending civic engagement with a dynamic social atmosphere, Politics & Prosecco offers attendees the opportunity not only to exchange ideas, but also to build relationships and spark collaborations that can drive meaningful change.At its core, the series seeks to move beyond partisan divides and cultivate a shared sense of purpose by bringing people together around a common goal: building a stronger, more inclusive New Jersey for all.Last Thursdays: Politics & Prosecco
